Strategic Planning
Dear Staff, Parents, Stakeholders, and Guests,
On behalf of the Board of Education of Chicago Ridge District 127.5, I would like to take this opportunity to share a little about our educational program, challenges the District is facing, and our plan to meet the needs of our students and staff over the next five years.
The District offers a well-rounded educational program that assists students in developing the skills necessary to meet the educational and societal challenges they need to be prepared for the 21st century. The Board of Education, administration, teachers, and support staff work closely together to meet the needs of our students.
Like many Districts in Illinois, District 127.5 currently faces many challenges. Some of these challenges are due to the ongoing pandemic while others issues were present in schools across Illinois prior to March of 2020. Some of these challenges include a national teacher and staff shortage, uncertain state funding of education in the future, implementation of new learning standards, increased need for diverse technology, and limited space for our programming. Through this process, the District has identified five key areas.
1. Curriculum/Student Outcomes
2. Human Resources/Professional Development
3. Student Needs
4. Technology
5. Finance and Buildings
Although there are many challenges ahead, the District sees this unique time in education as an opportunity. Over the next few months, the District will complete its Strategic Plan in order to prepare our students for the future. We look forward to partnering with community members to finalize the plan.
District 127.5 welcomes stakeholder feedback/input and we appreciate everyone who filled out the survey over the last three weeks! The District is also seeking volunteers to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee that will write the plan over two sessions.
1. Session #1- Friday, December 3, 2021- 6:00 p.m.- 9:30 p.m.
2. Session #2- Saturday, December 4, 2021- 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
